What is the MN Health Insurance Exchange?
MN Health Staff Writer | September 26, 2013
The Minnesota Health Insurance Exchange is opening its virtual doors to the public on October 1st, 2013 as a result of the Affordable Care Act.
Health insurance professionals at MN Health Insurance Network will be helping individuals and families navigate this new online marketplace step-by-step in a variety of ways. First, we will help you determine if you are eligible for any type of subsidy or tax-credit within the MN Exchange. Government subsidies and tax credits will be assessed on a sliding scale to help cover all or some of the new premium rates.
Next, we will determine if purchasing health insurance through the MN Exchange is the right option for you or if the private market will be more advantageous. Forecasts have shown that only 1 in 5 people, or 20% of Minnesotans, will use the MN Exchange to shop for health insurance. All others will continue to use the private marketplace for their health insurance needs.
Lastly, whether choosing to have more options within the private marketplace or electing to redeem a subsidy or tax-credit through the MN Exchange, we will help you compare the variety of new plans in both markets and streamline the application process for you and your family.
Our goal at MN Health Insurance Network, Inc. will be met when we help you and other Minnesotan's understand their options when it comes to this new world of healthcare, and, ultimately, get the health insurance coverage that you and your family want and need.
